TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is saddened to learn of the passing of former quarterback Blair Kiel who died suddenly at the age of 50 this week.
Kiel dressed in six games with Toronto during the 1992 season after spending three seasons with the Green Bay packers of the NFL. He retired a year later as a member of the Cincinnati Rockers of the Arena Football League.
Originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1984, Kiel’s skills at the quarterback position made their way to his nephew, Gunner Kiel, who is currently a freshman signal-caller for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
