MISSISSAUGA–The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to welcome import DT Joseph Cohen who was a member of the Florida Gators’ 2007 BCS National Championship team. He has signed on with Toronto through the 2013 season.
Cohen most recently played with the Detroit Lions where he recorded 9 tackles and 1 QB sack in seven games in 2009. Cohen was a fourth round draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2007 and has also gained NFL experience with the Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders. Before making his way into the pros, Joseph played four seasons at the University of Florida where he started 34 games at defensive tackle. As a senior at Florida, Cohen played an important role in the Gators’ 2007 BCS National Championship victory over Ohio State.
The Toronto Argonauts also announced today that import WR Roydell Williams has been added to the retired list, and import DL Curtis Johnson has been released.
