Argos Add Riggs To Backfield

MISSISSAUGA – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club announced today that import RB Gerald Riggs has been added to the club’s practice roster. 

Gerald Riggs Jr. returns to the Argonauts’ for the third time in two seasons. In 2011, Riggs participated in the team’s training camp before sustaining a knee injury. Riggs returned to Argonauts’ training camp this past June for the second consecutive year showing no signs of injury. The 6-foot, 220-pound running back had 10 carriers for 61 yards and three receptions for 32 yards and a touchdown in the 2012 pre-season. Before arriving in Toronto, Riggs had been part of several NFL team rosters including the Chicago Bears and Miami Dolphins. The former Tennessee Volunteer made a name for himself as a junior when he scampered for 1,107 yards and six touchdowns on 192 carries.
