TORONTO– The Toronto Argonauts are pleased to announce that import WR Ken-Yon Rambo has been signed to the club’s practice roster. Rambo will join his new Argos teammates on the field this Thursday when the club resumes practice in preparation for Monday night’s game against the Eskimos at Rogers Centre.
Commented Toronto Argonauts’ General Manager, Jim Barker, “We’ve closely monitored Ken-Yon’s progress and we’ve been impressed by his commitment to healing his injury. We’re now very interested to see him perform on the football field.”
Rambo enters his eighth CFL season after spending the previous seven years as a member of the Calgary Stampeders. A CFL and West Division All-Star in 2008, he has twice caught for more than 1,000 yards in a season (2008 & 2010) and has produced 14 100+ yard receiving games. Crowned a Grey Cup champion in 2008, his regular season career totals include 406 receptions for 5,995 receiving yards and 39 touchdowns. He has played in six CFL playoff games, all as a Stampeder. Rambo was released by Calgary at the end of 2012 training camp and has been rehabilitating an injury to his Achilles tendon.
The former Ohio State Buckeye was a seventh round draft pick of the Oakland Raiders in 2001 before going on to play two seasons for the Dallas Cowboys where he dressed in 29 regular season games.
