TORONTO – Argos and Ticats fans who missed one of the most memorable Labour Day Classics ever can still be part of the rivalry in the Labour Day Rematch this Saturday, September 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Rogers Centre. Coming off an historic last minute win that saw records broken, milestones established and the end of an era, the Argos still have their sights set on first place in the East Division.

Owens:773 Away From 3K Three-Peat |
Presented by Purolator, this week’s game in downtown Toronto boasts some of the most exciting playmakers in the Canadian Football League today. Argos’ WR/KR Chad Owens last week broke a 20-year old club record with 402 all-purpose yards in a single game and is just 773 yards from his third straight 3,000+ all-purpose yards season. Fans are encouraged to track his progress on Twitter by using the hashtag #OWENS3K3. Argos defensive captain Jordan Younger and DB Pat Watkins, both among the league leaders in interceptions, solidify a Double Blue defence that is near the top of its game. Star quarterback Ricky Ray, who coolly led the Argos down the field in the dying minutes of last week’s game, is still second in the league in passing yards. Saturday will also be the first time in 2012 that fans in Toronto will get a live look at Ticats’ record setting kick returner Chris Williams.
As part of the 10th annual Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive in support of the Daily Bread Food Bank, fans are encouraged to bring as many non-perishable food items as they can carry or cash donation, to the Purolator volunteers stationed at stadium gates. Food donation bins will be at every gate and cash donations will be accepted outside the stadium pre-game at Gates 6 and 11, as well as inside the stadium at the top of section 110 until halftime. In return, fans will have the opportunity to enter a draw to win two tickets to the 100th Grey Cup game in Toronto!
True Double Blue fans will proudly welcome the franchise’s all-time sack leader Rodney Harding during halftime as he becomes the 22nd player to be inducted as an All-Time Argo. Harding played in 165 regular season games from 1985-1994 for the Double Blue, set the team’s all-time sacks record at 92, and was a member of the celebrated 1991 Grey Cup championship winning team.
Also at the half, representatives from the University of Toronto will be presented with a 100th Grey Cup banner commemorating the long and storied relationship between the school, the Toronto Argonauts and the CFL. The University of Toronto Varsity Blues participated in six Grey Cup games from 1909 to 1926, winning four, and Varsity Stadium , where the banner will be hoisted later this season, has hosted more Grey Cup games than any other stadium.
Before heading into Roger Centre to see Creswell Dance Academy perform during pre-game, fans can stop by the Gate 11 barbeque to pick up a gourmet sausage, prepared by Marc Angelo Foods. Proceeds from the barbecue will be donated to the St. Alban’s Boys and Girls Club.
During the game, the Argonauts will continue to demonstrate their commitment to bullying prevention and local youth by recognizing one student as its Huddle Up Student of the Game, presented by Tim Hortons.
The Toronto Argonauts are also offering fans a special Hamilton Rivalry Series ticket package.
