TORONTO— 10 years, 3 months, and 6 days. That is how long it has been since the Argos won as a visitor in BC once kick-off rolls around on Saturday.

For those of you who enjoy hard-hitting and intense CFL football, cancel your plans for Saturday night; heading into Saturday’s matchup, the Lions and Argos defence’s share either first or second spot in every defensive category in the CFL.
Both unit’s dominant capabilities were on display the last time these two met under the lights at Rogers Centre on August 6th as quarterback’s were held to under 250 yards passing, both running backs ran for less than 65 yards each, and there were only a total of 27 points on the score board once the clock hit zero.
The Lions won the game 18-9 on the strength of 10 points off Argos turnovers, and since then have won 3 of their last 4 games to vault themselves into first place in the CFL with a 7-4 record. Behind them sit the Toronto Argonauts, who with a win on Saturday in BC Place can move themselves into a tie for first place overall.
It would mark the first time since 1997 that the Boatmen were in that position this late in the season, and we all know what happened that year (click here)
Since the loss against the Lions in Week 6, Argos QB Ricky Ray looks like he has finally found a groove in the Milanovich offence. After three interceptions and one lost fumble against the Lions, Ray has a 71% completion rate with 1,273 passing yards in the four games that have followed.
His touchdown to interception ratio may not be shattering any records (11 vs 10), but his ability to control a game is becoming more and more apparent each week. This was never more evident than in last week’s Labour Day rematch against the TiCats, where Ray completed 26 of 32 pass attempts. The 81% completion rate was the fifth best in Argos history.
