TORONTO– The Toronto Argonauts finally return home on Thanksgiving Day Monday, October 8, at 4:30 p.m. to host the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The Double Blue come back to Rogers Centre challenging for first place in the East as the race to the 100th Grey Cup Playoffs begins to take form.

The Flyin’ Hawaiian, Chad Owens, became the first player in the league in 2012 to reach 1,000 receiving yards and is now the first player in pro football history to reach 3,000 combined yards in three seasons, which he has done consecutively. He is on pace to break Michael ‘Pinball’ Clemons’ single-season combined yards record, pushing closer to an unprecedented 4,000 yards in one season! Fans can track his progress using #OWENS4K. The Argos’ play making defence, led by ball hawk Pat Watkins, is tied for the CFL lead in most interceptions with 20.
Those excited for the premiere of The Bachelor Canada, featuring former Argonauts receiver turned Canada’s most eligible man Brad Smith (@bradcsmith), should plan to be in their seats early as he will be back in the stadium for the ceremonial kickoff on Monday. As well, up-and-coming, local singing sensation Veronica will perform the national anthem.
Stay in your seats for halftime for the Wendy’s Kick for a Million – Eastern Quarter Finals, as Dave Swanston, a 44-year-old professor and consultant from Burlington, Ontario, and Steve MacNeil, a 40-year-old sales representative from Bedford, Nova Scotia, will square off for a chance to move onto the semifinal playoff round and a step closer to winning the million. Then, members of the Argos Junior Cheer, led by the Argos Cheerleaders presented by the Toronto Sun, will perform a routine at halftime.
Come to the stadium early as the pre-game tailgate party starts at 12 noon outside Gate 11. There will be music, $5 tallboy cans of beer and gourmet sausages prepared by Marc Angelo Foods. All proceeds from the barbeque will be donated to Adopt a Dog/Save a Life. The Family Zone, as part of the team’s partnership with YMCA of Greater Toronto, will take over Gate 5 with face painters, music, giant Hart Entertainment Inflatables and much more!
Following the game, fans are welcome down to the turf at Rogers Centre for See You on the Field, an Argonauts post-game tradition. Fans are then invited to join Argos players and cheerleaders at the Official Post-Game Party at Shoeless Joe’s Sports Grill at 276 King Street West, for special food and drink deals!
