TORONTO – At 7:00 p.m. ET this Friday night at Rogers Centre, the Toronto Argonauts will host East Division rivals, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, in a crucial match for 2012 playoff position. The Argos are on the cusp of making the post-season, and a win this week would put them in strong position to secure their place in the 100th Grey Cup Playoffs.
This week’s game is presented by Wendy’s and one fan will compete at halftime in the thrilling Wendy’s Kick for a Million Final for a chance to win $1 million! One of either Burlington, Ontario’s Dave Swanston or Winnipeg, Manitoba’s Richard Pope will have a chance to take home great prizes and get one shot at a 50-yard kick that could change one of their lives forever.

Ontario Lieutenant Governor, and Honorary Chair of the 100th Grey Cup Festival, the Honorable David C. Onley will perform the ceremonial coin toss. Then, during the first half of the game, the Lieutenant Governor will present Argonauts Executive Chairman & CEO, Chris Rudge, with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee award, a commemorative medal that honours significant contributions and achievements by Canadians. The crowd will be serenaded during the national anthem by the voice of internationally renowned Canadian tenor Michael Schade who stars as Gabriel on Eisenstein in the Canadian Opera Company’s new production of Die Fledermaus.
Fans can come by the Gate 11 family festival and barbeque before the game to indulge in a gourmet sausage prepared by Marc Angelo Foods. All proceeds from the barbeque will benefit The Argos Foundation which supports programs such as the Argos’ award Huddle Up Bullying Prevention Program, presented by Tim Hortons. For the past twelve years, Huddle Up has tackled the issue of bullying across the GTA, reaching approximately 500,000 elementary and high school students. Also at Gate 11, the music will be pumping, Argos inflatables will be setup, face painters will get everyone game-ready and the Argos Cheerleaders, presented by the Toronto Sun will be on-hand. Don’t forget to stop by Gate 5 on your way in to the stadium to take a peek at the Argos-themed Canada Post delivery truck displaying the Double Blue’s commemorative stamp depicting Michael ‘Pinball’ Clemons and the infamous Mud Bowl.
