TORONTO – With a playoff birth locked up for the Double Blue, the Argonauts coaching staff has made the decision to rest some of its starters for this weeks battle with the Ticats. This will ensure no further injuries occur and will allow some of the starters bumps and bruises to heal, most notably Ricky Ray who Coach Milanovich said on Monday was still not 100%.
As a result, some of the new and young faces on the Toronto Argonauts will be given a chance to show off their stuff this Thursday and in some cases, make a case for a job in 2013. Argonauts.ca is going to take this opportunity to give you some background on some of the fresh new jerseys you will see out there on November 1st:

QB Trevor Harris: The #1 player to watch on Thursday will be rookie QB Trevor Harris. Signed by the Argos as a free agent on March 29th, Harris has dressed as either the backup or third string QB in all 18 games of the Argos season thus far. He has only seen regular season action in one of those games as he came in to spell Jarious Jackson against Saskatchewan. In those few series Harris completed just one pass for five yards. Where Harris really made his mark this year was in the preseason where he was the best Argos QB in the finale against Montreal. Harris led all Argos QBs with 160 yards and two touchdowns on 13 of 15 passing in less than a half of football. The most impressive series for Harris was a 93-yard drive that he capped with a five-yard TD strike that gave Toronto the win over Montreal. Harris has continued his growth all season and is consistently the last player to leave the practice field, taking multiple extra reps with Coach Jason Maas. He is also always there to throw balls for receivers looking to get extra work in. Look for Harris to show his growth this week and make a case to remain in Double Blue next season. |

WR Julian Feoli-Gudino: Hurt in the early part of training camp, Feoli-Gudino did not have a CFL contract to start off the 2012 season. However, on August 14, 2012 he was signed by the Toronto Argonauts to add depth to their receiving core and provide them with more non-import flexibility. Since August, Feoli-Gudino has bounced between the practice roster and active roster, dressing in six games but recording no statistics during that time. It is this week that Feoli-Gudino, who was named Vanier Cup MVP in 2008 for the champion Laval Rouge et Or, will have an opportunity to show that his impressive training camp was no flash in the pan and why the Double Blue brass decided to bring him back. Working on the outside, Feoli-Gudino should have many opportunities to make plays with many of the veteran receivers for the Argos taking off the week to rest. |

OL Joel Reinders: Signed by the Argos after being let go following New York Giants training camp this summer, Reinders returned to the club that drafted him in the 4th round, 26th overall, in the 2010 CFL Canadian Draft. Though he has not dressed for the Argos in 2012, Reinders has been on the 46 man roster for multiple game days since his arrival. The Waterloo Alumni should finally draw into the lineup this week and slot in for one of the veteran offensive lineman looking to get a week off to heal up. |

DE Donte Paige-Moss: After being signed to the Argos practice roster on October 5, 2012 Paige-Moss has made quick work impressing the coaching staff as he has already landed himself a spot on the 46-man roster. Drawing into the lineup last week against the Riders for the injured Kevin Huntley, Paige-Moss made his presence felt applying pressure and contain on Darian Durant and recording one tackle in the game. With some of the defensive lineman getting the week off to heal their bumps and bruises, there will be plenty of opportunity for Paige-Moss to impress the Argos management for 2013 and even potential spot duty come playoffs if an injury were to occur on the defensive line. |

DE Jeremy Geathers: After spending the better part of two seasons with the BC Lions, Geathers signed to the Argonauts practice roster on October 5, 2012. With a beat up defensive line getting some rest, it is possible that Geathers will get his first taste of CFL action this season. |
With all of that said, Hamilton still needs a win (and an Edmonton loss) to get themselves into the 100th Grey Cup Playoffs and as a result, will be playing with a winning mindset. Look for these young Argos to lay it all on the line as they look to show the Argos coaches and management that they should remain in Double Blue for years to come.
