MISSISSAUGA—The first practice after their impressive victory against the Bombers on June 12 began with a visit from the Commissioner of the CFL, Mark Cohon, who addressed the team.

Coming off of a solid performance in Winnipeg, WR Trent Guy (4 rec., 47 yds 1 TD) looked shifty during practice and is quickly getting acclimated to the tempo of practice required by Milanovich and his coaching staff. Strong on his cuts and routes, Guy is fitting in well with the Boatmen.
On the defensive side, DE Jonathan Williams, who finished Wednesday’s game with a packed stat line (4 DT, 1 INT, 1 PKD), continued to impress with his tenacity and high motor during team and individual drills.
Once again, the most hotly contested segment of today’s practice came via the O-Line vs D-Line one-on-one’s. These men clearly understand that it is imperative to make an impact on every down, and they wasted no time or effort trying to prove that. Even with heated competition during the one-on-one’s, the drill always ends with both the O and D line bringing it in for a huddle and breakdown of “LINE”.
Special Teams Coordinator Mike O’Shea used the second half of practice to continue teaching the Canadian rules of special teams to some of the new imports. With a few hiccups in the game against the Bombers, all units looked attentive and sharp as they try to eliminate those mistakes come June 20.
PLAY OF THE DAY
During the skelly period, Dontrelle Inman and a Defensive Back were stride-for-stride down field as the ball headed towards Inman on a pass from Ricky Ray. Before the DB could even react to the ball, Inman lept overtop of him and came down with the reception; just another day at the office for # 11.
