TORONTO – Toronto Argonauts football, presented by Desjardins, and an army of Double Blue faithful return to Rogers Centre this Thursday, July 11 at 7:30 p.m. to battle the Saskatchewan Roughriders and their legion of Melonheads as they try to invade the streets of Toronto.

Winners of 5 straight home games, and 8 of their last 9 games (all dating back to last season), fans will be relying on all of their Argos superheroes including Dontrelle “Spiderman” Inman, who can catch anything thrown his way, and CFL leading receiver, “Flyin’ Hawaiian” Chad Owens to shut down the green invasion. Marcus “Wolverine” Ball willbe prowling from sideline to sideline and Brandon “Iceman” Isaac is ready to freeze the ‘Riders offensive attack. The Argonauts will work hard to return to the win column after hometown fans were treated to a thrilling opener just two weeks ago.
For the first time, the limited edition 2013 Argos Cheerleaders magazine will be available for purchase from members of the cheer team who will be selling it throughout the stadium. Each full-gloss page will feature striking photos, articles and other details about this year’s squad. Proceeds from sales of the magazine will help send the 2013 Argos Cheerleaders to the 101st Grey Cup Festival and Game in Regina, Saskatchewan this November.
For the second year, The Rotary Club of Toronto and Toronto Argonauts Community Champion Scholarship has recognized one student from a Toronto school who not only demonstrates financial need but high academic achievement and a steadfast commitment to their community. This year’s recipient, Naresh Sritharan, will be presented with a cheque on the field and the Rotary Club of Toronto President, Neil Phillips will perform the ceremonial kickoff.
Before the game, teams from Niagara Minor Football, including the Argonauts, Tiger-Cats and Vikings, will scrimmage on the turf at Rogers Centre. Local singing sensation Kayla Maggio will perform the national anthem and then the hard-hitting football action will kickoff!
Fans are invited to join Argos players and cheerleaders at the Official Post-Game Party at Shoeless Joe’s Sports Grill at 276 King Street West, for special food and drink deals!
