TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts sit on top of the East Division has they prepare to host the BC Lions this Tuesday, July 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Rogers Centre.

Argos Football, presented by Desjardins, is powered by one of the best offences in the CFL. Chad “The Flyin’ Hawaiian” Owens once again leads the league in receiving yards and combined yards, while  Andre Captain Canuck” Durie iscoming off of his second straight game with at least 100 yards receiving. Khalif “Colossus” Mitchell,who pounded his opponentsin last week’s win at Winnipeg,gets ready to suit up against his old team from Vancouver. Fans can also trust that Pat “Punisher” Watkins will lock down his corner of the field while Robert “Hammer” McCune will nail those who dare come through the middle.

The Argonauts’ Junior Cheer program is back for another season! More than 60 girls ages 5-18 have been busy learning a dance routine from the premier cheerleading squad in the CFL and will get a chance to perform on the field during Tuesday’s halftime. Once again, the limited edition 2013 Argos Cheerleaders magazine will be available for purchase from members of the cheer team throughout the stadium. Each full-gloss page features striking photos, articles and other details about this year’s squad. Proceeds from sales of the magazine will help send the 2013 Argos Cheerleaders, presented by the Toronto Sun, to the 101st Grey Cup Festival and Game in Regina, Saskatchewan this November.

There are plenty of events planned for fans at gates outside the stadium during pre-game on Tuesday.  At gates 5 and 6, TSN Radio 1050 will be setup with their new Chad Owens football toss inflatable. Over at gates 10 and 11, Marc Angelo Foods will be preparing sausages and Argos faithful are invited try their hand at being an armchair quarterback, participate in an obstacle course or have their face painted! Once inside, Toronto born singer/songwriter, soprano Michelle Danese will perform the national anthem.

The Argonauts will again celebrate their Champion of Change initiative as part of the award-winning Huddle Up Bullying Prevention Program, presented by Tim Hortons. At each home game, the Argos have committed to recognizing student champions who make a difference in their school or community through acts of kindness, tolerance, and respect for others. The Children’s Breakfast Clubs will also benefit on Tuesday as they will receive proceeds from the night’s 50/50 draw. 

Fans are invited to join Argos players and cheerleaders at the Official Post-Game Party at Shoeless Joe’s Sports Grill at 276 King Street West, for special food and drink deals!
