TORONTO – After throwing for 413 yards and 3 touchdowns, and tying an Argonauts franchise record for single-game consecutive completions with 17 (Mike Rae, 1975), QB Ricky Ray has earned CFL Offensive Player of the Week honours for the second time in 2013 (Week 1).

Ray completed 30 of his 35 pass attempts in the Double Blue’s 36-33 victory over the Edmonton Eskimos on Sunday night, finding 7 different receivers for completions en route to leading the team to their fourth straight win. In 6 games, Ray has completed 78 % (143 of 183) of his attempts for 1,768 yards, 14 touchdowns and zero interceptions.
This is the third time Ray has been named Offensive Player of the Week as an Argonaut (2012 – Week 17; 2013 – Week 1) and the seventh time since 2008.
Ray and his teammates now shift their focus to their upcoming matchup against the Calgary Stampeders on Friday, August 23, 2013. It will be the first time these two teams have met since the Argos historic 100th Grey Cup championship victory on November 25, 2012 at Rogers Centre. Also on Friday, more than 20 members of the legendary 1983 Toronto Argonauts Grey Cup championship team will be honoured during halftime.
