Ray finished the evening with a career-high in passing yardage (505), and set a new Argos club record with 39 completions (Tobin Rote, 38, 1990) in a 36-21 victory that sealed the East Division for the defending Grey Cup champions. He also re-wrote the Boatmen’s record books by completing 21 straight pass attempts (one completion from tying the league record held by current Argos coach and former teammate Jason Maas), which surpassed the club record that Ray held jointly with former Argos QB Mike Rae (who first set it in 1975) of 17 straight completions. In 10 games in 2013, Ray has completed a league-best 77% of his pass attempts (234 of 303) for 2,878 yards, 21 touchdowns and two (2) interceptions – record he will hold following the final week of the season.
This is the fourth time Ray has been named CFL Offensive Player of the Week as an Argonaut (2012 – Week 17; 2013 – Week 1, Week 8), and the eighth time since 2008.
