TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to announce that non-import WR Mike Bradwell has avoided free agency and extended his contract with the team through the 2015 season. Bradwell was scheduled to become a CFL free agent tomorrow at 12 noon ET.

Commented Argonauts General Manager Jim Barker, “Mike has developed into an important member of our team who has proven he can compete as a starter in our league. He is a smart, physical receiver who can play all of the positions, and he is a great special teams player. Mike grew up in Toronto and has become a valuable member of our team’s community programs. We are happy to have him back in Double Blue.”
Born and raised in the Leaside area of Toronto, and a graduate of Leaside High School, Bradwell will enter his sixth CFL season in 2014. He has played his entire career for his hometown Argonauts and was a member of the 100th Grey Cup championship team in 2012. His career totals include 81 regular season games played with 86 catches for 1,040 yards and four touchdowns.

The Argos drafted the McMaster University product with the 13th overall pick in the 2008 CFL Draft. He returned to school that year to complete his degree in Civil Engineering and has been a full-time member of the Double Blue since training camp in 2009. As a member of the Marauders, he was a First-Team All-Canadian and led the nation in receiving yards in 2008.
