K/p Swayze Waters Named Special Teams Player Of The Month For July

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to announce that, for the first time in his career, K/P Swayze Waters has been named CFL Special Teams Player of the Month for the month of July.
 
Waters currently leads all CFL kickers in average yards per punt (46.8), and is tied for first in both total field goals made (13) and field goal percentage (92.9%, 13 of 14).  He also sits third amongst kickers in total kicking points with 50.

The highlight of Swayze’s month came in Ottawa when he successfully made a 51-yard field goal, which tied him for both the longest field goal made this season and the longest of his CFL career. Waters has accounted for 35 of the team’s 41 points the past three weeks. During this span, he has made 11 of 12 (91.7%) field goals, with one single and one convert.  He also added eight punts for a total of 822 yards (45.7 yards per punt).
 
The last time Waters received league-wide honours was during Week 19 of the 2012 season when he was named the Special Teams Player of the Week following a game-winning 51-yard field goal to defeat Hamilton.
 

 

Swayze Waters and the Toronto Argonauts head to Montreal to take on the Alouettes this Friday night at McGill Stadium.
